Trouble at school

In this guide, we explain:

  • What exclusion is and what you can do about it
  • How to avoid exclusion
  • How to spot the early signs of problems at school
  • How to work with the school and your child to get them back on track
  • Your rights and responsibilities as a parent.
School exclusionIt can be alarming when things start going wrong for your child at school.

Their schoolwork and results may be getting worse, they might stop telling you about what they’ve been doing at school, you may get phone calls or letters from the school about their behaviour, or they might be excluded for a while.

You might think that it’s a slippery slope towards your child missing their chance for a good education. But it doesn’t need to be like that.

This guide explains what you can do to help if your child is in trouble at school...
