Trouble at school

School exclusion 1 newIt can be alarming when things start going wrong for your child at school. Their schoolwork and results may be getting worse, they might stop telling you about what they’ve been doing at school, or you may get phone calls or letters from the school about their behaviour.

You might think that it’s a slippery slope, either towards your child missing their chance for a good education, or worse – being excluded from the school. But it doesn’t need to be like that.

In this in-depth guide, we explain:

  • how you can spot the early signs of problems at school,
  • how you can work with the school and your child to get them back on track,
  • your rights and responsibilities as a parent.
