Child protection: basic training for Roma champions and advocates

This training help Roma champions and advocates to gain a better understanding of the child protection process.

As a result of the Covid pandemic we have now updated our training on this subject, first delivered in 2018, so that it can be delivered online.

Our new training helps Roma champions and advocates, who support parents, to gain a better understanding of the child protection process.

As a result of attending this training participants will:

  • improve their understanding of the child protection process and key agencies involved in safeguarding of children in England,
  • understand the main reasons why Children’s Services get involved,
  • understand the impact of the pandemic on social work practice and the court process, and,
  • develop strategies needed to positively engage with Children’s Services.

“I have never been to training where the process of child protection was put over so well, I knew a lot of the information in parts, but I found it really helpful to see the overview. Thank you.” – training participant (2021)
