Call for participants: Child protection for Gypsy and Traveller advocates

What is the training about?

It will help Gypsy and Traveller champions and advocates who support Gypsy and Traveller families to gain a better understanding of the child protection process.
As a result of attending this training you will:

  • Improve your understanding about the child protection process and key agencies involved in safeguarding of children in England,
  • Understand some of the reasons why Children’s Services get involved,
  • Develop strategies needed to support Gypsy and Traveller parents to positively engage with Children’s Services.

Who should attend?

This training is aimed at intermediaries: Gypsy and Traveller champions, advocates and support workers who help Gypsy and Traveller families involved with Children's Services.


Who delivers the training?

Law for Life: the Foundation for Public Legal Education, a charity that aims to increase access to justice by providing everyone with an awareness of their legal rights together with the confidence and skills to assert them.
This training is delivered in partnership with the Traveller Movement, a national civil society organisation working with Gypsy, Traveller and Roma communities.
