Filling in the PIP form - a video guide

Filling in the form to apply for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) can be confusing. This video guide explains what PIP is and how to fill in the form.

If you get turned down for PIP or do not get the award you thought you were entitled to, please challenge the PIP decision. We want more people to get the help they are entitled to and the DWP make the wrong decision all the time so we have made a PIP mandatory reconsideration tool that sets out your case for you. Claimants who have used our PIP MR tool are considerably more likely to get the decision changed at the earliest stage than those who haven't. If your PIP MR isn't successful, please make sure you appeal as 59% of appeals are successful and only 1% of appeals include any new evidence. Good advice about PIP claim form

I wouldn't normally choose to watch a video about this type of thing. I am re-applying on behalf of my son as I also go through the appeal process. I need all the advice I can get, and I found it a lot more helpful than I expected. I agree the background music could be a little distracting. There are some very useful tips, it's about the right pace and not at all confusing.

Video feedback

Thank you for doing this video. I'm sure its helpful for many, but I just wanted to give a little feedback, as the background music is very distracting and I wasn't able to hear what was being said very well. Some people struggle to hear when there is lots going on sound wise. :-)
