Parliamentary Outreach is part of the UK Parliament website and aims to spread awareness of the work, processes and relevance of the institution of Parliament. By raising awareness it hopes to encourage greater engagement between the public and the House of Commons and House of Lords.

Parliamentary Outreach includes:

  • Delivering training sessions explaining the work of Parliament, such as the 'Parliament: it's about you!' programme
  • Drop-in sessions in Westminster for individuals wanting to learn more about the work of Parliament.
  • Developing projects with local networks to demonstrate Parliament's historical relevance to their area, such as the 'Breaking Barriers' exhibition
  • Access podcasts covering Parliament's outreach work.

The Parliamentary Outreach service works in partnership with a diverse range of organisations, from local community groups and adult citizenship classes to national campaign networks and non-governmental organisations.

Parliamentary Outreach has officers based around the UK. In most instances, they provide training at a convenient location. Sessions can be scheduled to last from one hour to a whole day.
