This programme continued our successful 'Fighting precarious housing programme' to support community organisations working directly with people experiencing housing problems. It comprised three six-session-long courses on housing rights and four strategic forums for a range of participants to discuss strategic and policy approaches towards housing justice.

Evaluation is particularly crucial for Public Legal Education projects as the benefits of such projects can be hard to measure. This makes it all the more important to identify outcomes quite precisely in order to be able to assess whether they have been achieved. It is only through evaluation of PLE projects, and by sharing the results, that we can show the effectiveness of a preventive approach and begin to make the business case for our work. Law for Life has published an evaluation framework for Public Legal Education.

In this section we give an overview of our training sessions on housing and homelessness issues. These include the most common types of problems that people living in the private rented sector face (which are also relevant to people living in social housing) and key issues relevant to people who are homeless, including those living in temporary accommodation.

In this section we give an overview of our benefit training sessions. These courses provide an introduction to some of the key issues in applying for and maintaining benefits. We also work with partners to develop and adapt existing courses to fit the needs of participants.
