New 5-year funding confirmed

We are delighted to confirm that we have been successful in securing funding from the Access to Justice Foundation and and The National Lottery Community Fund's Improving Lives Through Advice stream.

Beginning in March 2024, this grant will support the core staff cost of a health justice partnership with Greenwich Mental Health Hub. This will enable Law for Life to integrate and scale up our blend of family law advice service and disability benefits specialist support in the Hub, as well as developing new digital support for PIP tribunals.

This project will make the following differences:

  • Service users will be empowered to identify, understand and resolve their difficult family law and disability benefit problems, improving their financial and other outcomes.
  • Low-income families will access specialist legal advice about child and financial arrangements that they otherwise could not afford, improving their outcomes.
  • More disabled people and their families will challenge the refusal of benefit awards successfully, thereby reducing poverty.
  • More families and disabled people will experience reduced stress and improved legal capability, helping them cope better with family or disability benefit issues.

Improving Lives Through Advice (ILTA) is a five-year funding programme delivered by The
Access to Justice Foundation and The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder
of community activity in the UK.

It is designed to support the delivery of free legal advice tomarginalised people and communities across England. Thanks to National Lottery playersfor making this possible.
