In 2025 we delivered 47 workshops for 1,376 people working, volunteering and organising in frontline organisations across the country. These individuals went on to support others in their workplaces and communities, meaning our indirect reach this year exceeded 138,000 people.

Here is a recap of our year in training…

Housing rights for private renters

We started off the year in February with our course ‘Housing rights in the private rented sector.’

Housing rights for care leavers

In March, and again in September, we delivered our new workshops - ‘Housing options for care leavers’ and ‘Benefits for care leavers’ alongside two of our existing courses, ‘Housing rights in the private rented sector’ and ‘Temporary accommodation and homelessness housing rights’, for organisations working with young people and care leavers.

Dealing with section 21 evictions

In March, April and May we put on workshops on ‘How to deal with a section 21 evictions.’ In these workshops, we aimed to equip people with the skills to respond to section 21 evictions, anticipating a rise in their use before the Renters Rights Bill is passed. We are very pleased to say that this bill has become law and section 21 evictions will be abolished from May 2026!

Temporary accommodation and homelessness

In July we ran our 'Temporary accommodation and homelessness' course, where we covered benefits, bidding for social housing, living in temporary accommodation and dealing with homeless applications with local authorities.

NRPF

In June and November, we worked with the fantastic organisations Project 17 and the Care Rights Project to deliver two workshops on ‘Local authority support for migrants with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).’

Housing rights for refugees

In September and November, we delivered ‘Temporary accommodation and homelessness housing rights for refugees’ courses. These courses were attended by frontline organisations supporting people at the sharp end of the refugee homelessness crisis.

Making sense of the law for survivors of modern slavery

We were proud to support the New Horizons Summer School at St Mary’s University, offering vital learning opportunities for survivors of trafficking and modern slavery. Through two practical workshops, we helped participants build confidence in understanding the law and addressing legal problems they may face.

How to use the Ombudsman

In October we hosted the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman again (after enjoying a successful workshop the previous year) who delivered a ‘Complaint Champions’ workshop featuring speakers from the Housing Ombudsman and the Social Care Ombudsman.

Housing rights course for a grassroots group Streets Kitchen

In November and December we had the privilege to work with the incredible grassroots group Streets Kitchen to provide a series of training workshops to their volunteers. We covered benefits, homeless applications and vulnerability assessments.

Good practice when working with Roma families in a safeguarding context

This year, we delivered eight workshops for a range of frontline services likely to be working with Roma families involved in child protection. Participants included professionals working at children’s services, schools, police, health services, and voluntary sector organisations.
