Help us in our mission to get justice for all, not just for some, with our life-changing legal resources, training, and campaigns.
Your letter has been emailed to the email address you gave us.
If you have any new evidence like an EHCP, or letter from a consultant or school or nursery, send a copy with your letter. You may also want to add a line or two to your letter to highlight what these reports/letters confirm. If you don’t have any new evidence, send the mandatory reconsideration request anyway.
Don’t be put off!
Some people find that that after they have sent the mandatory reconsideration request, they get a phone call from someone at the DWP who tries to explain why they think they have made the right award. If this happens to you, be polite but don't allow them to put you off. Ask them to continue with the reconsideration.
Some people are also told that they need to provide further medical evidence in order to have a chance of getting the decision changed. This is not true. Ask them to continue with the reconsideration.
We want to find out more about the impact of our DLA mandatory reconsideration request tool and appeal guide. To help us with this, we would be hugely grateful if you would complete this short survey.
