Our current projects

To follow

Research is a key driver of Law for Life’s work, generating the theories and evaluation practices that underpin our work. Our evidence and data collection, in turn, provide the basis for our advocacy work and policy initiatives. Analysis of users' needs and the impact of our services is strengthened by dedicated research grants. These findings inform our strategic priorities.

Through our services, we are also able to research cross-cutting issues and provide insight into the wider issues of access to justice and to develop and share good practice across the sector.

Evaluation

Evaluation is vital for public legal education projects.  We need to know what works and we need to demonstrate that PLE is effective in helping people to navigate the hazards of modern life.

Law for Life’s evaluation framework for public legal education, produced jointly with the University of Bristol, is based on a clear conceptual model of legal capability – what people need to know and be able to do in order to deal with law-related issues.

In this section we draw together what we have learned from our work and elsewhere to make recommedations to improve digital access to justice, and remote and online courts.
