PLE providers have often worked in isolation and there has been patchy and uneven development with few resources to help. The resources in this section aim to begin to fill this gap. Law for Life needs the help of volunteers to keep running our high quality service for our users. There are different types of ways people can volunteer with us. 

In 2004 Advicenow, a project of the Advice Services Alliance (ASA) began campaigning with Legal Action Group and Citizenship Foundation for public legal education to be recognised as an important element of legal services. As a result, the Ministry of Justice supported the independent PLEAS Task Force which recommended the establishment of a ‘PLE Centre’ to take forward the work of developing public legal education.

We are excited to announce the continuation of our public legal education work on housing and homelessness thanks to funding from the Trust for London. 

This programme continued our successful 'Fighting precarious housing programme' to support community organisations working directly with people experiencing housing problems. It comprised three six-session-long courses on housing rights and four strategic forums for a range of participants to discuss strategic and policy approaches towards housing justice.
