Don’t worry, many people miss this deadline. You can still ask for an appeal but explain why the delay was unavoidable. If you give a reason, your appeal will usually be accepted if it is within 13 months of the decision.
Good causes for delay include:
- being too ill.
- needing help or advice and not being able to get that until now.
- being in hospital.
- being too depressed or anxious to manage it until now, and plenty more.
