Yes. You are much more likely to win if you take part in the hearing as it allows the panel to hear what you have to say and ask you questions. Half of all hearings are held via video or telephone, so you may not have to travel anywhere. You are slightly more likely to win if you go in-person but the most important thing is that you take part.
