Going to the family court

Have you/are you representing yourself in court using Advicenow's resources? Would you be willing to talk to a friendly journalist about your experience? If so - please contact us.

If you are going to court (or considering it) to sort out a family problem, like divorce or arrangements for your children, we have the help you need. We know that if you cannot get legal aid and cannot afford the help of a solicitor, it is very stressful and difficult. We want to help you as much as we can. Our guides help you find your way confidently through the process, and aim to make it more manageable for you. We now also provide a panel of solicitors offering help at a reduced, fixed fee for just the most complicated bits of child arrangements or financial cases. We link to the best information from other organisations, and we also highlight where you may be able to get free advice and support to deal with your case.

Corona virus update

If you have a court hearing coming up, read advice and guidance for all court and tribunal users during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak from the government.
